SETTING: eowPREMISE 01: Twenty-year-old MIN HANA is among the many candidates to enter the C9 DIGITAL SCAPE and fall victim to Dark Web trafficking by agents referred to as "TORRENTS." The Dark Web was created within the C9 DIGITAL SCAPE after bitcoin investors transferred their digital currency into the realm and became multimillionaires. These rich moguls, desiring to engage in nefarious acts that could not be detected by AI protection software within the digital realm, blockaded a large city behind a paywall and established themselves as its leaders. To enter this city, which came to be known as the C9 DIGITAL SCAPE's Dark Web, one must pay a large sum of digital currency to surpass the paywall. Thus, only the wealthy could move freely in-and-out between the Dark Web and the rest of the digital realm, while the trafficked victims upon whose backs the Dark Web runs have no way out, as they cannot afford to be free.PREMISE 02: OBSCURA is a sci-fi drama that delves into the lives of a tight-knit queer community trafficked to the Dark Web and their efforts to dismantle the system taking advantage of them. The story focuses mainly on the inhabitants of THE DOLLHOUSE, a communal queer housing unit owned by JASHA ZAKHAROV, and SCAPEGπ€AT, an underground punk band fronted by guitarist and vocalist RAMI ANDERSEN. It is an exploration of what might happen if humans were given a chance to start anew in a society governed wholly by themselves; instead of creating a perfect utopian society, the C9 DIGITAL SCAPE simply repeats the cycle of discrimination and wealth disparity once more.
